There has been alot of talk about the Sandusky Yacht Club and Shoreline Park and while we are not engineers we do believe there is an alternative to both; benefitting SYC and SOS (Save Our Shoreline) organizations, as well as being a long term economic benefit to the city.

  • This plan doubles accessible shoreline to city residents
  • This Plan increases over all park space
  • This plan radically expands SYC Marina
  • This Plan gives SYC a large chunk of land to build condos and expand their facility into a resort
  • This plan would not detract from SYC's view of the bay
  • This plan is simple, cost effective, and very feasible and is not any different than the rehabilitation that is transpiring in Huron, OH at the old Conagra facility.
  • The deal would involve gifting a lot of the current Shoreline Park to SYC and all of the Surf's Up property in exchange SYC would build a new Wave action Pool in Lions Park and use the removed earth from their harbor expansion to build a much larger and much more useable park for the city on the waterfront. Any condos to be built would be done on the old Surf's Up Property.
  • Since park land would be increased park size and more shoreline this should satisfy all credible citizen action groups protesting the expansion of SYC including SOS. This new park being created is roughly twice the size of Battery Park.

 After

 Before

The revenue stream resulting from the Geothermal Utility under the park will help to finance the park as part of the deal with SYC any condo's built would have to be heated and cooled by this geothermal utility. This resulting revenue stream should be large enough to make major improvements in the park and add attraction such as a lighted fountain show that should attract numerous visitors during the warmer months helping to stimulate the economy. So the more condo units they build the better the improvements that can be made to the park.
