Washington Park is not part of our plan but it is part of our vision.

We envision a radical upgrade to our current main downtown shopping district by the renovation and improvement of its buildings. Most of these building are sorely in need of major rehabilitation and repair.

We believe that by the city providing multilevel access to these buildings by  means of a multi level pedestrian thoroughfare can be the best way to stimulate this rehabilitation.

This will allow building owners to triple their storefront space and triple the value of their property. By having elevator access provided provided via elevator towers located in Washington and Schade Mylander Parks they can also eliminate interior stair cases within their building providing them with more useable square footage to lease, rent, or sell.

This kind of a project would require an immense amount of co-operation but the selling point is the huge potential profit it could bestow on building owners and the city. Rather spending so much money on new development we believe we should re-develop what we have here already and include this project into any Marina District development. Re-development will attract new developers as it is easier to attract new business if we get our ducks in a row first and fix our eyesores. Putting up developments next to eyesores that have the potential to never be fixed or become more costly to fix we believe is not a good business strategy. Lets help the people who already have an investment here and their good word of mouth will help to advertise and revitalize Sandusky.

By having a cohesive and unified plan to rehabilitate these downtown buildings they can be marketed toward top name merchandisers such as the ones locating in perkins township.

Combine this with the new parking created in the parks and the shuttle bus system created by the new events center will drastically help to revitalize the downtown's marketability.
